Okay Spokesters and Stamman 8-)) Hey everyone 2008 has started with a bang, 101 entries for the first event!!!!  Let’s see if we can increase our entries for event 2!  Register now as Spokes needs some idea of how many are coming to compete!!!  Remember, this is the first year of the “Come and get it trophy”  You can’t take it unless you compete.  Also, as part of the Tirerack Divisional Championship Series, you are part of the Southwest Div team at the Natl Championships!!  To be on the team, you must participate at a divisional and the more we get the better our chances!!!! Come out and see SuperStock, AStock, STU and STX battle it out!  We should charge admission to watch these guys!!! Get off your butts and enter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Register at http://www.spokes.org/2008divisional.php Todd Farris
Southwest Div Solo Steward

Bridgetstone has announced contingency rewards for all of the ST classes in the Tirerack Divisional Championship Series.  Huh?  Any div series champ in any of the ST classes will be paid $300 for 1st, $200 for @nd and $100 for third.  Decals and more info will be available at tech at each div event.  Entries must be registered beforehand with SCCA to collect contingency.  Check out www.scca.com for more details.  I will have registration forms available on site for this weekend as well as required decals. thankstodd

Div 1 is around the corner and I would sure like to see it break 100 entries.  If you are on the fence, remember, this year’s div sponsor prizes will be drawn from the pool of those entries that participate in 3 of the 4 events.  Same as championship awards.  Speaking of championship awards, a person must finish two events to receive a div championship award.  Also, gas is forecast to keep going up so this might be a good time to sneak a quick div event!!

Welcome to the 2008 Southwest Division Solo website. 2008 will mark the return of the SWDiv Solo Series to Louisiana. On this site, we will be communicating any and all updates concerning this year’s series. Sponsors , entry info, host motels, etc. will all be linked from this site. As well, a forum is included so that competitors may interact, challenge one another or share info. Please no bashing.

This year’s series is comprised of four events. Championships will be awarded based on an entry’s best three finishes. Ties will be decided based upon head to head finishes then time differential in comparison to the rest of the class at each event.

A few other changes for this year include the addition of a single, pax based tire class and the Jr. Kart program. With these additions, we hope to grow our participation levels over last year’s strong support. 2008 solo rulebook p. 28 Rule 3.5 Mufflers will be enforced by a committee of Div Steward, Chief Steward and Chief of Tech. No one will be sent home, however, if an entry is deemed overly loud, they will be asked to correct the car before the next event. If it is not corrected, entry will be dsq’d and their entry fee refunded. Sites are increasingly more difficult to find and we can’t jeopardize this. Please, treat every site as if it was your own.

More good news, Tire Rack has chosen to support the divisional programs this year in a big way. Also, I have been able to add a few more sponsors to last year’s list of supporters. Please, support those that support our series!! Check out their sites from our link section.
